Watch While You Can: Everything Leaving Netflix in May 2025 (2025)

Netflix is the streaming service with the most original movies and shows, but tomake room for the new stuff, some of the content you've always wanted to see—and have had on your to-watch list for months—must be bid adieu from the service.

That's because Netflix doesn't own everything it streams. Its contracts with networks, production companies, and movie studios mean its programming constantly changes. So, each month, we keep you up to date with a list of what's going to disappear. We'll highlight our top choices for what you should view in May before they're gone, and below that, we'll share the full list.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut (May 1)

Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi masterpiece is the poster child for studio meddling, as the theatrical version added narration and other changes that the director despised. Blade Runner: The Final Cut restores Scott's original vision for a dystopian future of replica humans and lost love, while also adding a restored full-length version of Deckard's unicorn dream that's never been seen before as well as all the cut violence and alternative scenes.

The Peanut Butter Falcon (May 5)

It's a tough time for people with disabilities right now, so flicks like The Peanut Butter Falcon are more necessary than ever. This funny and heartwarming movie follows Zak, a young man with Down syndrome, as he makes a break from the assisted living facility he's in to seek professional wrestling training from the Salt Water Redneck. On the way, he befriends a troubled fisherman for a series of picaresque adventures.

The Silencing (May 29)

If you're looking for a fun thriller with some solid performances, The Silencing might be your cup of tea. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game Of Thrones stars as an alcoholic game preserve warden who is mourning his missing daughter. When a dead girl's body is found nearby, he links up with a young sheriff to find the man responsible and try to find closure for his own grief. It's not a masterpiece, but it's got good atmosphere.
